Transform Your Data Center
The Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4 processor product family combines with Intel storage platform technologies to deliver simplified, integrated, optimized storage.
Cloud and Enterprise Data Centers
- The Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4 processor product family drives smarter cloud technology, offering businesses additional value through elastic hybrid cloud models that combine the advantages of private and public clouds into a single, integrated environment. With hybrid cloud, enterprises have the flexibility, choice, and easy scalability to optimize service delivery to meet their diverse needs and optimize resources for even greater efficiency and agility. Workloads move dynamically between clouds, and services can be spun up quickly to capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Now, both enterprise and cloud data centers can achieve optimal performance with 14nm technology and up to 22 cores with a maximum TDP of 145W. Each processor supports four memory channels with up to three DIMMs per channel and memory speeds up to 2400 MT/s. The new Intel® Resource Director Technology (Intel® RDT) improves operational efficiencies and manages application and workload utilization in converged infrastructure with cache quality of service (QoS).
Software-Defined Storage (SDS)
Software-defined, server-based storage brings your data center closer to being able to handle data on a massive scale with the efficiency of large cloud providers. It addresses one of the greatest IT challenges for implementing storage innovation: Cost.
Using relatively inexpensive, open-standard Intel® architecture, data centers can take advantage of multiple storage resources. This includes SSDs with NVMe*, external disk systems, object platforms, and cloud-based resources that can be combined to build a powerful storage infrastructure and deliver workload-optimized performance.
Gain the ability to pool resources and better allocate them across your storage infrastructure. Existing investments can be maximized and costs reduced through greater total-cost-of-ownership efficiencies with Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4 processors, Intel® Ethernet Adapters XL710, and Intel® SSDs (for all NVMe* or NVMe* cache and SATA).
More Capacity
With Intel platform storage extensions, the Intel® Xeon® E4-2600 v4 product family offers new intelligence for dense, low-power storage solutions that can be deployed in or out of the data center. Non-transparent bridging (NTB) enables high-speed connectivity among Intel® Xeon® processor-based platforms for failover support; asynchronous DRAM self-refresh (ADR) helps to protect data in the event of a power outage; and Intel® QuickData Technology offloads memory accesses to the SoC for fast data movement with low processor overhead.
- Asynchronous DRAM self-refresh (ADR): Preserve critical data in RAM during a power failure.
- Non-transparent bridge (NTB): Provide failover support between two nodes.
- PCI Express* (PCIe*) dual cast: Improve bandwidth by delivering data to two memory locations simultaneously.
- Multicore Intel® Xeon® processors and optional chipsets with Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel® QAT): Offload compute-intensive compression algorithms, freeing up CPU cores to perform other critical tasks.
- Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel® AVX) with 256-bit vector support for integer vector operations: Accelerate storage workloads such as tiering, thin provisioning, and data deduplication.
- Intel® Intelligent Storage Acceleration Library (Intel® ISA-L): Built-in high speed XOR P+Q Intel® QuickData Technology (CBDMA) and RAID-5 acceleration engine.
- Erasure coding: Offload RAID calculations from the CPU with hardware RAID acceleration.
