Diagnosing Eye Disease with Deep Learning
Teikyo University Hospital used the Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit toolkit to run recognition image processing on a PC, enabling doctors to infer diseases like macular degeneration and glaucoma from fundus photographs that capture images of the rear of the eye. Members of the hospital staff trained the deep learning model in the cloud and built an inference (recognition) environment that runs on a local PC with the OpenVINO™ toolkit.
Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Life Sciences
Intel’s work in AI is helping health industry experts address some of the most pressing challenges today. We offer a range of flexible, scalable, open hardware to fit every compute need, from low-power VPUs to high-performance CPUs. And software tools like the Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit remove the complexity of working with different hardware back ends, so you can write code once and deploy it everywhere.
